JEFFERSON AIRPLANE is born in 1965:

JEFFERSON AIRPLANE was formed in 1965 in San Francisco with band members: PAUL KANTNER, JACK CASADY, JORMA KAUKONEN, MARTY BALIN, SKIP SPENCE and SIGNE ANDERSON. Shortly after forming SKIP left to be replaced by SPENSER DRYDEN. SIGNE left to have children. I said hello to Signe up until a few years ago, she said she regretted nothing. She actually, I think, had no problem, even at an advanced age, singing just for the fun of it. After she leaves, GRACE SLICK joins the band, to form their classic lineup.

Although I was not familar with JEFFERSON AIRPLANE and JEFFERSON STARSHIP early on, I read Grace Slick's biography (still have it), and was impressed. When she answered my fan mail, kindly, I was even more impressed. As a New Yorker, if you are famous AND nice, yer number One in my book. Exploring all her music, I loved everything with her, and up until the end in about 1989. She's been playing the rock and roll game a while, and feels,"people of a certain age,.... should not be on stage!!" The last good music of all her and her bandmates, ends at CRAIG CHAQUICO's "New Age," music. Absolutely the best stuff. Esp. Panorama & Once In A Blue Universe !!!! (The 60's to the 90's)

(as always, I had this on DvD and lent it out, never to return....)
