Under threat of a lawsuit from Craig Chaquico,the former lead guitarist.
Apparently, according to Craig's lawsuit, of the 8 original JS band members, only one remained, PAUL KANTNER.
With the passing of PAUL KANTNER recently, the band has no original members, who have legal rights to the name.
So even if Craig wins, HE can't use the name !! Cathy Richardson told me all 8, or any remaining members of JS, must agree to use the name, unaminously.
Cathy said Grace Slick is an original member who gives her 'blessing' to this lineup, of former JS bandmates.
Craig doesn't care, and is suing anyway. There have been so many lineup changes, and members.
There really isn't much money left, and Craig says it's 'not about the money. Although a former bandmate of Craig', told me maybe it is.
Craig also says he's the only band member who played on every album. Which is cool. Hope the judge sees the merit in that.
JS was retired in 1984 after lawsuits, and questions of ownership. Esp. Paul Kantner.
The band name was reignited by Paul Kantner again in 1992, with the blessing of his former bandmates. Paul no longer being in the band, leaves no remaining JEFFERSON STARSHIP band members in the band, They are currently being sued by CRAIG CHAQUICO:
CATHY RICHARDSON !!!
Well, the Craig Chaquico lawsuit against JEFFERSON STARSHIP, has been settled. (2021?)
I wonder if it was a cash settlement or new royalties agreement? Inquiring minds want to know. Lol.
Which is good , because last Cathy told me, she was a divorced mother, with a wife and 2 children, living in Chicago.
And right before the court settlement, was possibly, unhappily, thinking about a new direction in employment.

Strangely, I asked Cathy what happened to her. She said Diana just didn't show up to a show one day, and never returned !!

DARBY GOULD on vocals. I saw JEFFERSON STARSHIP 2 years after 9/11. Which is ironic because my school was across the street from 9/11.
Also supremely ironic, I was down the hall right before the show, working on this website. Security was very tight, as you could imagine.
DIANA MANGANO was also on vocals this night, but bowed out due to a sore throat. DARBY carried the show, she was amazing !!
Even the security guard standing next to me, mentioned,"she was better than Grace Slick!!"
