Craig Chaquico post 1990, strikes out on his own. Craig said in an interview, he wasn't really playing guitar as freely as he would like to do, or had done in the past. Grace Slick told him, he needed to do more to express what he could do on guitar, more, on his own. Craig is now embracing his Western roots, and playing 'new-age' "Smooth Jazz." Which I love, lol. I went to my local hospital, and, Once In a Blue Universe, was playing on the Public Address System. !!! (lol)
I met CRAIG CHAQUICO at The Blue Note Jazz Club, at one of his last, if not very last appearances there!! !!
At this time, 'Smooth Jazz' is fading as a radio friendly genre; but I was luck enough to catch Craig, right after he was recieving awards for his Smooth Jazz !!
I was way in back, but screaming the loudest. First to meet him after the show.
I met the whole band after the show. As I was leaving, I bumped into Oz (Ozzie Ahlers), paying the bar tab.
Nice guy, signed this poster. Met the drummer, MARQUINHO BRASIL. CRAIG. Great show!!
CRAIG CHAQUICO sent me every 'New-Age' CD he ever made, autographed. Great guy!!!
'OZ,' OZZIE AHLERS !! Nice hair !!
